JSC “Aeroelektromash” at the “HeliRussia 2019” expo

Выставка HeliRussia 2019

JSC “Aeroelektromash” is participating in the 12th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition “HeliRussia 2019” scheduled for May 16–18, 2019. Venue – Pavilion 1, International Exhibition Centre “Crocus Expo”. We are pleased to invite you to attend our stand No. 2С, 3С.

At HeliRussia 2019, Aeroelektromash will present ultralight helicopters and an aviation electric motor.

Within the framework of the 12th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition “HeliRussia 2019”, “Aeroelektromash” will present its original designs: ultralight helicopter R-34 and electric motor ВД 25000 for driving aircraft airscrews, as well as an ultralight trainer helicopter VA-115 developed by RotorSchmiede, Germany. The exposition of JSC “Aeroelektromash” will be presented at stand №2С.

Helicopter R-34 is developed under technical assignment of “Aeroelektromash” company jointly with OKB “Rotor” design bureau (Kumertau). A flight prototype of helicopter R-34, used in flight tests, will be presented at HeliRussia 2019.

Ultralight helicopter R-34 is based on the coaxial rotor system and it is the most compact, efficient, and low-noise helicopter in its class. The helicopter is equipped with a 130 hp gasoline engine Rotax 915, and its design features hingeless suspension of blades, a composite torsion, and a parachute rescue system. The maximum flight altitude is 4.5 km, declared range – up to 600 km. Developments are underway on R-34 application at the unmanned version.

VA-115 is based on the coaxial arrangement as well and also belongs to the ultralight class. The machine is intended for training of pilots. A full-size mock-up of the development will be presented at HeliRussia 2019. For driving the rotors, the design of VA-115 implies use of two 34 hp electric motors developed by the “Aeroelektromash” company.

In addition to the helicopters, “Aeroelektromash” will demonstrate at HeliRussia 2019 the electric motor, in the form of a prototype, being designed for driving of aircraft propellers. The motor is based on the converter-fed motor scheme with permanent magnets, with nominal rotation speed to be approximately 2500 rpm. Estimated load-carrying capacity of the aircraft is 200–300 kg.

Use of the motor will make it possible to have a transmission free from complex hi-tech assemblies requiring lengthy workout (main reduction gear), which entails long operating life, better repairability, low noise level, and low infrared signature.

A motor like that may find application in both manned and unmanned ultralight helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. In the long run, the motor may be used in urban air-taxi models.

Eventually, “Aeroelektromash” company intends to develop and produce a new-generation electric motor for driving rotors and propellers of different aircraft types (airplanes and helicopters) with more powerful lifting system.

JSC “Aeroelektromash” has years-long experience in the design of electrical equipment for aviation and space engineering. The enterprise engages in development, manufacture, and repair of electrical equipment and automatic control systems. The design bureau of the plant has to its name unique in-house developments in the field of power generation systems and their units for airborne vehicles, such as generators, switching and control equipment in the area of various-purpose electric drives, including hoisting and transportation equipment.

The 12th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2019 will be held between May 16-18 in accordance with the order by Government of the Russian Federation No. 2403-р of October 30, 2017. Venue - Halls 3 and 4 in the 1st pavilion of the International Exhibition Centre “Crocus Expo”. Exhibition promoter - the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, exhibition sponsor - “Russian Exhibition Systems” Co. The activities are organised on the initiative and with support of the Helicopter Industry Association.
